SoWhatCommunications, a leading Brussels-based consultancy in public and regulatory affairs, strategic communication, crisis communication and change communication, announces the appointment of two new partners, Andrew Cave and Olivier Trop, marking another milestone as the company celebrates its first anniversary. This expansion further strengthens SoWhatCommunications’ commitment to providing top-tier, actionable counsel and advice to its clients. Kristof Doms has decided to leave the partnership to pursue other career opportunities
Over the past year, the consultancy has established itself as a trusted adviser to businesses, NGOs, associations and public authorities operating in Belgium, the UK, EU, and internationally. The addition of Olivier Trop and Andrew Cave adds significant expertise and reinforces SoWhatCommunications’ unique position as a consultancy delivering hands-on senior competence across all projects.

Olivier Trop – 30 years of communication experience
With over 30 years of experience, Olivier Trop is a renowned marketing and communication professional. His expertise spans a wide range of disciplines, including strategic communication, branding, crisis communication, internal communication, digital and social media, and public relations.
Throughout his career, Olivier has held leading positions at agencies such as Interel (now Dentons Global Advisors), Duval Guillaume (Publicis), and The Oval Office, as well has served as Group Marketing and Communication Manager for Reynaers Group. He has advised national and international corporations, brands, and governmental institutions on their communication strategies, helping them engage diverse audiences from consumers to policymakers.
“I’m excited to join SoWhatCommunications at such a pivotal time,” says Olivier Trop. “With my experience on both the agency and client sides, I look forward to contributing to the firm’s continued success by helping our clients develop communication strategies that resonate and deliver real impact.”

Andrew Cave – Advocacy and public affairs expertise
With over two decades of experience operating at the highest levels of government, politics, and business across the UK, EU, and internationally, Andrew Cave brings to SoWhatCommunications a deep level of expertise in strategic communications, policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, crisis management and association management.
As Head of Policy, Public Affairs, and Communications for the UK’s largest business trade association, he spearheaded successful policy initiatives in response to the Great Recession, working closely with successive UK governments. At EU level, Andrew has led complex legislative advocacy campaigns, established and managed trade associations, and supported NGOs with media engagement and crisis management. His career includes both in-house and agency roles, advising C-suite leaders of S&P 100 companies and serving as Head of Communications for Europe at Philip Morris International.
“I am delighted to be joining SoWhatCommunications at such a crucial time for businesses navigating the complexities of the post-Brexit landscape and broader global challenges,” says Andrew Cave. “With my experience working both inside and outside of politics, and my deep knowledge of EU institutions and the UK political system, I look forward to helping organisations effectively engage with policymakers and stakeholders. At a time when guidance and strategic insight are more important than ever, I am excited to bring my expertise in communications, advocacy, and crisis management to support SoWhatCommunications clients in achieving their goals.”
