SoWhatCommunications is very happy to announce that as from April 2024, Pierre Deraedt and Wim Hautekiet have joined the team as partners.

SoWhatCommunications was founded in September 2023 to support its corporate and institutional clients in the fields of Public Affairs, Strategic Communications and Crisis Communications at Belgian, European and international level.

“We are strong believers in Actionable Intelligence.  Information is key, but not enough.  Our value as a team starts where the monitoring stops. We support our clients in processing the information, understanding its relevance to their concrete business and develop a strategy on what to do with the information. This requires a strong direct and unlimited in-house access to a broad pool of knowledge, experience and talent.  We feel that Pierre and Wim, who both bring a wealth of corporate and public affairs expertise, are very complementary to the skillset of the other partners and will be a great addition to the team” says Managing Director Olivier Hinnekens.

Wim Hautekiet has over 30 years of experience in business and finance, having served in a variety of executive roles based in several European countries.  He started his career at the Brussels bar (Linklaters) and went on to serve as General Counsel, regionally for BNY Mellon and JP Morgan (London) and globally for Clearstream (Luxembourg) and Dexia (Paris).

His interest in strategy and business led him to serve as CEO and Chairman of BNY Mellon’s European Banking subsidiary and to act as co-founder of Quantessence Limited, a fintech startup in which Euroclear (the international clearing and settlement house) took a majority stake in May 2017.

Pierre Deraedt is a versatile public affairs professional with an extensive experience in commercial strategy and business operations. With more than 20 years of experience within a multinational environment, Pierre specializes in collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective public relations campaigns that ensure alignment between public affairs objectives and overarching business goals.

By building strong relationships and in-depth knowledge of his dossiers he has demonstrated a keen ability to effectively engage with key stakeholders, including political decision-makers, government agencies, NGOs and community leaders in complex regulatory landscapes and challenging situations. His commitment to staying at the forefront of economic and societal trends allows him to bring a dynamic and strategic approach to the intersection of public affairs and commercial success.
